Welcome to my FAQ section, where I answer the most common FAQ questions about my custom portrait drawing services. This FAQ covers everything from how to place an order, what photos work best, turnaround times, and payment options. My goal is to make the process clear and stress-free. Click the “Order Form” button at the top of the page and fill in your details. A 20% deposit is needed, which you can pay securely through PayPal.

I’ll email you to confirm once I’ve received your order and deposit. If you need the portrait by a certain date, please give me as much notice as possible. If it’s urgent, fill in my contact form instead, and I’ll let you know if I can fit it in.

When your portrait is finished, I’ll email you a preview and send the final invoice. Once the balance is paid (via PayPal), I’ll post it to you:
– UK orders go by Royal Mail 1st Class or Special Delivery (A3 size)
– International orders are sent using Royal Mail International Tracked & Signed.

It usually takes between 1 and 8 weeks to complete a portrait, depending on how busy I am, the size of the portrait, and how many people or pets are in it. If you need it ready by a certain date, I’ll aim to have it done in time.

You can send me either a digital or printed photo. The clearer and sharper the image, the better the portrait will turn out. Please try to send the original photo, not a photo of a photo, and make sure it’s the best quality you have.

You can send your photo as an attachment through my contact form, order form, or by email. If you prefer, you can also post it to the address on my contact page.

Yes, you can. I can use separate photos of people or pets and draw them together in one portrait.

I draw each portrait on extra smooth drawing paper using high-quality watercolour or studio pencils. When it’s finished, I spray it with a clear gloss varnish to help protect it from smudging.

I offer portraits in the following sizes:
– A6: 105 x 148 mm
– A5: 148 x 210 mm
– A4: 210 x 297 mm
– A3: 297 x 420 mm

Yes, I’m happy to take orders from overseas. I post international portraits using Royal Mail International Tracked & Signed.

I send portraits using Royal Mail for UK orders, and Royal Mail International for orders outside the UK.

Unframed portraits are packed in strong, padded envelopes with a hard backing and marked “Do Not Bend.” Framed portraits are securely wrapped in corrugated cardboard and marked “Fragile” to keep them safe during delivery.

Postage and packing costs:
– £5 in the UK for A6, A5, and A4 portraits
– £8.25 in the UK for A3 portraits
– £9.50 for all overseas orders

Yes, a 20% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your order.

I use PayPal for secure online card payments. You don’t need a PayPal account to use it. When you fill in my order form, you’ll be asked to pay a 20% non-refundable deposit through PayPal.

Yes, any photos you send will be returned to you with your finished portrait.

I’m confident you’ll be happy with your portrait, but if not, you can send it back for a refund; as long as I receive it within 5 days.
